Editor's note

Help us fill the office diary

It's the start of the year and we're looking forward to all of the great events planned in the area. Make sure we don't miss out on any of them by sending us your event info.

The first Corridor Gazette issue of 2016 hit the shelves this morning and we hope you enjoy catching up on all the holiday news.

I’m very excited about the new year and look forward to all of the great markets, social and sports events that lie ahead.

On that note, I’d like to invite all schools, social and sports clubs, and community organisations such as business chambers and CPFs to send me their calendars or year programme; in that way we can include all the most important community events and meetings in our online and print calendar and the office diary.

We also want to give you all the freshest news, find out more about people and organisations making a difference in the community, and investigate problems that residents face, so all tip-offs and story ideas are welcome.

You can send any story ideas and tip-offs via our Facebook page, dropping by our office in Malalane, or sending an email to retha@lowvelder.co.za.

If you’d like to share your opinion with the community, thank someone or an organisation for a job well done, or pay tribute to someone who has passed away, send us your letters and we’ll publish it in a special section of the paper.

If you’re an aspiring writer, have your own blog or are interested in writing a blog, we’re looking for two or three regular bloggers for our website. Topics can include interesting stories about the area, wildlife, your experiences, or even DIY, cooking, and life advice.

Send us your idea for a blog and a sample of your writing, and we’ll let you know what we think.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page and website, where we’ll be posting the latest news, lifestyle articles you can only find online, and galleries of photos and videos.

Share your beautiful photos and funny videos with us and you may see it published on the website or in our print edition.

Thank you to all of our online followers who like, share, and comment on our posts, our loyal readers who can’t wait to get their hands on a copy of the paper, and our clients for your support. Please keep supporting us in the year ahead and helping us grow the Corridor Gazette brand.

Happy reading!
