Voter registration for the forthcoming by-election in Mbombela’s Ward 17 will take place this weekend.
The by-election for a new ward councillor is scheduled to take place on Wednesday August 12.
The previous councillor Mr Werner Le Gange resigned on June 30 to take up a position in the DA’s provincial office.
Residents can register at LVCC, Laerskool Bergland or Nelsville Community Hall from 08:00 to 17:00 on Saturday and Sunday.
Ms Patricia Ngwenya of the IEC says voters who are already registered in the ward do not need to reregister, but those who have moved to the area since the general elections last year, need to reregister to be able to vote in the ward.
