Barberton Hospital needs deceased identified

The female patient, who died in February, was found with a fake South African ID, belonging to someone else who had died in 2001.

The hospital needs the public’s assistance to locate the family of Bridgette Hill, who passed away in February.

According to the hospital’s CEO, Veli Mandonsela, Hill was brought in by ambulance and was admitted on January 7. She passed away on February 11, before specific information about her background could be obtained.

She is suspected to have been an illegal immigrant from Morocco and was found to be in possession of a fake South African ID document. According to the Department of Home Affairs, the ID belonged to someone else who had died in Gauteng in 2001.

“No further information is available to identify her true identity and trace her origins,” Madonsela said.
