Clay and Coffee hosts successful paint-and-sip event in Mbombela

The well-known artist Gerrit Pitout spent an afternoon at Clay and Coffee guiding several patrons as they painted their choice of gorgeous predrawn designs.

Some artistic locals experienced an enchanting afternoon filled with delicious food and a steady flow of coffee at a paint-and-sip event, hosted by artist Gerrit Pitout at Clay and Coffee on Saturday April 1.

The event saw attendees choose from three predrawn designs to paint their own way, under Pitout’s expert guidance.

The paint-and-sip afternoon was fully booked, and Clay and Coffee’s owner, Deirdré das Neves, said there were plans to host another one in the near future.

Pitout is a renowned artist and has exhibited his works across South Africa as well as in the United States and Israel.

Although born in Klerksdorp in 1953, he matriculated in Barberton.

According to Pitout’s biography on his website, www.artpitout.co.za, the artist was the designer of the school emblem for Laerskool Laeveld as well as the old Nelspruit Technical College’s.
