Holiday visitors beware, Marloth lions loom

The carnivore team in Marloth Park has yet again issued a warning after a lion was spotted in the park.

With some people heading for a festive season in Marloth Park and some already very much in it, warnings of lions in this park should be heeded now more than ever.

The carnivore team released another urgent warning for December 12 and 13. A lioness had been spotted in the B, C and D sectors of the map shown here.

The team said she was moving between the houses, and everyone should be extremely careful and vigilant.

The immediate alert is for the blocks mentioned, while a follow-up alert will be supplied should she move out of this area.

“Everybody needs to be extremely cautious.

“There is an urgent alert for joggers, hikers and cyclists in the mornings and afternoons. Be extra careful at night as the lions are a bigger threat in the dark. If you have a braai, sit with your backs to a wall and keep the lights on,” the team pleaded.

“Please do not allow children to roam around or play unsupervised. The lions could appear anywhere in Marloth Park.”
