Hi-Tech guard dies in Mbombela CBD

The 54-year-old guard had been on his way home from a night shift when he collapsed and died. Hi-Tech said he will be remembered and missed.

Hi-Tech Security Nelspruit is mourning the loss of one of its guards, Josiah Nkosi, who died while on his way home from night shift duty this morning, October 21.

Nkosi (54) had been working at a site in the Riverside area and had caught a bus to the Promenade Shopping Centre on his journey home, when he began to feel unwell.

The managing director of Hi-Tech Security, Frank Swanepoel, said Nkosi had called the Hi-Tech control room and said he was not feeling well.

“We had someone rush to the scene, but unfortunately it was too late. Josiah had already passed away,” said Swanepoel.

He said they are unsure about the cause of Nkosi’s death and it would be looked into by the police.

“Josiah had been working for Hi-Tech for two years. He was liked by everyone who knew him and was a hard-working and dedicated man.

“Hi-Tech is deeply saddened by this loss. We want to send our sincere condolences to his family and friends. He will be remembered fondly and missed terribly by the Hi-Tech family,” Swanepoel said.
