A world of gin and good company in White River

World Gin Day was celebrated in true Lowveld style at Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre.

With gin, music and food coming together, Gin & Co celebrated World Gin Day at Casterbridge on Saturday June 11.  A ticket got you eight tokens that you traded to taste some of the gins on offer. The stalls started at Gin & Co and followed the path down to Yoons @ Barnyard where people were relaxing in their groups.

Danny Fisher entertained everyone while Magnolia, Zannas and Yoons @ Barnyard saw to it that the gin went down with delicious food.
The owner and distiller of Gin & Co, Tanya Cruse, said they followed the same recipe for the event as they did last year. Why change something that works?

She said there were about 120 tickets that were sold online and they had quite a few walk-ins as well. Cruse is convinced everyone loves gin. “Often it is not the gin they do not like, but the tonic, so there are alternatives.”  According to her, a person is converted to gin on days like these.
