Community shuts down Masoyi SAPS so police can search for missing girl
The police are following possible leads to find a six-year-old who has been missing for nearly two weeks.
Following a meeting by the Game community this morning, May 10, the Masoyi Police Station was closed so as to increase feet on the ground to search for the missing girl, Bontle Mashiyane. She was last seen on Saturday April 30.
The Masoyi Police Station spokesperson, Capt Nanikie Mbuyane, confirmed that the station is closed.
“The station was closed by community members this morning. The SAPS is out following leads to find Bontle.”

The ANC Youth League chairperson and Ward 5 councillor, Godfrey Shiba, and other community leaders led the movement to stop operations at the station. “We cannot have the police certifying documents while children are missing. We must find Bontle.”
According to Shiba, a memorandum was handed over to the station commander. “The memorandum stated that within 24 hours the culprits behind Bontle’s disappearance should be found. If the police cannot do their job, we will do it for them.”
