CANSA and the Melusomuhle Foundation hand out food parcels

This programme supports children and teens diagnosed with cancer or affected by the disease, as CANSA believes no child or family should have to face cancer on their own.

CANSA Nelspruit donated food parcels to families in the CANSA Tough Living with Cancer (TLC) programme on Friday.

Ramphosi Shawe of the organisation said, “We are aware that many families have been affected financially by Covid-19 and are in need of basic food essentials at this time.

“We appreciate all the assistance we received. “The Melusomuhle Foundation is an NGO supporting children and families affected by cancer in Mpumalanga and it helped us make this initiative possible. We have successfully concluded a number of projects together in the past three years.”

Tebogo Moya, the founder and chair-person of Melusomuhle, went out and sourced sponsorship. “Mbombela was the first stop. We are still going to reach out to Bushbuckridge, Nkomazi, Hazyview and surroundings. Old Mutual donated R50 000 to Melusomuhle Foundation making it possible for the organisation to donate food parcels to CANSA TLC families.

“We are so grateful for this partnership and it is evident that more people can be assisted if we join hands as organisations and do not work against each other. Together we can win the fight against cancer,” she concluded.
