All you need to know about Shaheena Jareehag owner of Modern Montessori Preschool
Shaheena Jareehag is a successful 32-year-old woman originally from Johannesburg. She was married in Mbombela and decided to start a school in 2019.
Initially her life had been mapped out to be quite different, as she had studied economics at the University of Witwatersrand. It took a turn, however, when she realised that teaching was her calling. She studied at the Institute of Modern Montessori and qualified with a diploma in the Montessori field.
Modern Montessori Preschool started off small with only one class and its own syllabus. The school has now grown to two full classes with age groups from three to six.
“Parents believe our preschool is definitely a home-away-from-home environment. We believe children learn best when they are settled and love what they do. They learn through play. We cover math, language, sensorial and practical life. We are very pro sport as well. We are proud to have Soccer Starz as part of our school, which is hosted once a week. Our schoolkids are as colourful as the school tree in our logo,” she said.
