On Saturday the Mataffin Men Forum, GRIP and community members marched against gender-based violence (GBV).

Cases of reported GBV have recently increased. According to GRIP, the safety of women and children is a great concern due to this.

As a way to bring awareness of GVB, they marched from the Shell Garage to Mataffin Square. Rhandzu Lucretia and Tsongaland Productions Artists joined this initiative.

The organisation’s programme manager, Nomshado Ndlovu, said GRIP is grateful for the support it received. “The event was a great success. It was nice to see elderly people who joined the march.” Ndlovu said were it not for the support they received, the event would not have been possible.
