Suspects arrested for illegal firearms

Two suspects were arrested last week on charges related to the illegal possession of unlicensed firearms.

Rhyno Bishop and Eric Ndlovu briefly appeared in the White River Magistrate’s Court on Friday following their arrest on Thursday by the Hawks.

They were arrested by the Hawks for the possession of unlicensed and prohibited firearms.

Police found various illegal weapons, including illegal hunting rifles, rifle barrels, handgun ammunition, homemade silencers and improvised active homemade explosive devices.

Bishop’s case has been postponed to May 27 for bail application. Ndlovu’s case has been withdrawn following consultation with the NPA.
