New Year’s babies celebrated differently this year

A total of 236 babies were born in Mpumalanga on New Year’s Day.

On 31 December, Sasekani Manzini, Mpumalanga Health MEC, appealed to the usual Good Samaritans who visit hospitals on New Year’s Day bearing gifts to celebrate this year’s new-borns under the new normal.

No visitors and well-wishers were allowed in health facilities to minimise the spread of Covid-19. Manzini congratulated all the mothers in advance.
