Hikers take a ramble to Devil’s Bridge on eSwatini border
BARBERTON - The Lowveld Ramblers enjoyed a hike to the magnificent Devil's Bridge right on the Kingdom of eSwatini's border on Saturday.
The group of over 30 hikers left early on Saturday morning, meeting in Crown Street in town at 07:30 before making their way along the road toward the Josefsdal Border Post.
Co-leader, Barry Richardson entertained everyone before they started with the legend of Devil’s Bridge and a bit of history about the Barberton gold-panning community.

The hikers trekked along the plantation tracks to the Pass of the Spider to the eSwatini border with spectacular views all along the eight-kikometre trail.
Rolling green hills and mountains littered rocks and thick vegetation could be seen from every direction with the group stopping a few times along the trail for a snack and water break.
A highlight was when the hikers spotted a tiny ladybug basking in the sun on a stack of rocks placed along the route just before the Devil’s Bridge.
