Covid-19: Mpumalanga records 19 more deaths since previous report

South Africa has recorded 651 521 confirmed infections, according to an announcement by the minister of health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, on Tuesday, September 15. A total of 25 856 of those cases have been reported in Mpumalanga.

According to data released by the Mpumalanga Department of Health, there have been 24 597 recoveries and 485 deaths to date.

The number of positive cases in the province can be broken down as follows:

Ehlanzeni District

• Bushbuckridge: 764 cases, 700 recoveries and 16 deaths • City of Mbombela: 4 437 cases, 4 183 recoveries and 36 deaths • Nkomazi: 1 991 cases, 1 904 recoveries and 33 deaths • Thaba Chweu: 379 cases and 357 recoveries and 10 deaths.

Gert Sibande District

• Chief Albert Luthuli: 689 cases, 663 recoveries and eight deaths • Dipaliseng: 335 cases and 327 recoveries and six death • Dr Pixely Ka Isaka Seme: 917 cases, 888 recoveries and 18 deaths • Govan Mbeki: 3 505 cases, 3 391 recoveries and 32 deaths • Lekwa: 1 103 cases, 1 020 recoveries and 59 deaths • Mkhondo: 527 cases, 489 recoveries and 22 deaths • Msukaligwa: 1 505 cases, 1 414 recoveries and 43 deaths.

Nkangala District

• Dr JS Moroka: 370 cases, 355 recoveries and nine deaths • eMakhazeni: 412 cases and 381 recoveries and 17 deaths • eMalahleni: 5 298 cases, 5 090 recoveries and 91 deaths • Steve Tshwete: 2 558 cases, 2 410 recoveries and 55 deaths • Thembisile Hani: 616 cases, 587 recoveries and 20 deaths • Victor Khanye: 450 cases and 438 recoveries and 10 deaths.
