I have shared with you what some of the local classic car enthusiasts had been doing during lockdown last week. There is, however, another group, perhaps a tad less glamorous, nonetheless passionate and at times a little more unforgiving (during racing), that also has to keep itself out of mischief and stay productive during this truly challenging and changing time.

Bertie Prinsloo is choreographing the oval macarena and promise to demonstrate it at the next race meeting.

Boesman Bezuidenhout is out fishing at a secret location.

Chris and George engage in some hard labour. This is what happens when you ignore Anna’s to-do-list.

Chris Moolman is repairing – among other things – Dave Keats’ bakkie.

Jan Buys building his heavy metal race car – although at this time it still looks like something out of an apocalypse movie.

Stefan Vosloo – when not working in his garage.

I am of course referring to the local oval-track racing fraternity. With no certainty as to when the next race will take place, lockdown presents the ideal opportunity to complete various building and repair projects, on top of merely entertaining the family and kids.
