Watch: The #DontRushChallenge will get you active

Thinking of fun things to do this week with your friends while social distancing? You might want to consider the #DontRushChallenge, currently trending on Instagram and Twitter.

The challenge asks participants to shoot a before-and-after video.

Participants first take a short clip of dancing to a song, most commonly “Don’t Rush” by Young T and Bugsy. Then, using an object to cover their camera, they reappear in the next scene all glammed up. The participant then “throws” the object to the next person they nominate.

The object “thrown” could be a hairbrush, makeup brush or a scarf. Whatever participants decide to use.

Videos are shot in different locations but edited together so the cut is not noticeable. The video can be uploaded to your Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or even WhatsApp status.

This could be an exciting activity to get you moving for the next couple of hours and connect with friends despite the lockdown.

Shooting this is not as easy as it looks, and the editing process will help to sharpen those skills.

Plan this ahead of time with friends. It will make the final combined challenge video so much better.
