2020 is the year to be comfortable in your body

It is my body, I call the shots, #PLUSSIZE is trending on twitter.

Sasha-Lee Laurel Olivier is our new Miss South Africa! This was made official on Miss South Africa’s Twitter account yesterday morning.

Sasha-Lee was classified as a plus-size contestant, but Twitter does not totally agree with this. This has upset quite a number of people, with them saying the description “plus size” is misleading.

However, regarding the pageant, she meets the requirements.

In reality, a plus-size person would usually not find their outfit in the standard ranges. That’s not a train smash as there is definitely something for them.

Should your size be a criteria for anything a person wants to be?

Honestly,  I look at the crowned queen and in comparison with the former queen, she is definitely “plus size”. However, her being plus size is not the issue.

It is the insecurities people have about their bodies. Classify yourself as you please, as long as it makes you happy.

Many women have embraced their body, whether underweight or overweight. But there are many people who are disturbed by the world’s harsh judgement of their bodies.

Some say the meanest things about themselves and they would by all means degrade themselves. That does not help the situation, either.

I think every individual should learn to appreciate and be comfortable in their own skin.

If you want to change something about yourself like lose weight, follow an eating plan, or even to gain weight. Do not let the world decide for you.

If it is not your body, you have no right to tell anyone what their body should look like. This is not to say you are not allowed to advise friends and family, but be kind when giving advice.

If it’s your body, love it. Own it.

As for the crown queen, congratulations, girl!
