Morning robbery in front of FNB
A man was robbed in front of the First National Bank at The Grove Shopping Centre today.
Mbombela – Two men, one of which was armed, robbed a middle-aged man of an undisclosed amount of money at approximately 10:45 this morning.
Initial reports of a hostage situation on social media spread like wildfire, but these rumours appear to be incorrect.

Callum McPherson, armed response manager at HI-Tech Security Nelspruit, explained that according to a report by his team the two suspects fled in a Golf GTI with Gauteng number plates. No injuries were sustained during the robbery.
The Nelspruit police spokesman, Capt Zandile Gqawa, could not be reached for comment on the alleged robbery. Lowvelder will further report on this matter as more information becomes available.
