BREAKING NEWS: One person dead after crash on R40
The crash happened between the Msholozi four-way stop and Toyuz Road.
MBOMBELA – The passenger of a blue City Golf was fatally injured at 19:50 on Saturday.
According to Emer-G-Med’s Martin Jeffrey, the Golf was standing still in the right-hand lane in the direction of White River to Mbombela.

“It had no lights on and there was no indication that it was a stationary vehicle.”
According to Jeffrey, a Mahindra travelling at an immense speed hit the Golf from behind. The passenger died on impact, while the driver was seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The driver of the Mahindra sustained minor injuries and was also taken to hospital.
Motorists are advised to be cautious as there is still debris from the accident on the road.
