Two accidents at one of Kruger National Park’s gates

MBOMBELA - Two accidents happened at the Kruger National Park's Kruger Gate on Wednesday night. SANParks spokesman, Ike Phaahla said the one took place at about 21:00.

“The vehicle crashed through the gate travelling at a high speed, made a U-turn at reception and sped out again.”

He said Skukuza SAPS picked up the registration numbers and are following up on the matter.

The second accident happened at around 23:00. “The vehicle crashed into the guardhouse and three people were injured and were treated on the scene.

The driver has been charged with negligence and driving under the influence.”

The driver appeared in the Bushbuckridge Magistrate’s Court.

The outcome was not known as of going to press.

Phaahla concluded that nobody should drive under the influence of alcohol whether in the park or outside as you might lose your freedom, your limb, or even your life.
