I’langa expansion will be well worth it

The mall's management assures that every decibel of noise and every intake of dust will have been well worth it once it is done.

MBOMBELA – Though some inconvenience is being caused by the current expansion of I’langa Mall, it is being kept to a minimum to continue to provide sensational shopping as promised.

The mall’s management assures that every decibel of noise and every intake of dust will have been well worth it once it is done. As of the end of March, Game was relocated to where it is currently trading in its new temporary box just outside Mopani (just follow the pink footprints).

Its roof is currently completely removed and piles and columns have been commenced to prepare for the upper retail and (cool) new entertainment level, but for that you just have to grab some popcorn and wait patiently.

Currently, the truck tunnel at the corner of Bitterbessie and Thorny Creek streets is open for deliveries. This will now also provide space above for the Edgars expansion. The road entrance to the basement parking at Mopani is currently closed and will be reopened just before Innibos on June 29. This serves to provide level and easy access into the mall, and will also provide more parking during Innibos. The mezzanine entrances are currently being upgraded for better appeal, direction and lighting.

The new entrance opposite Mercure Hotel into the basement level has been created to provide easy direct access for the new Pick n Pay. This new retail wing is scheduled to open at the beginning of September.

All basement paving is being lifted and replaced with concrete hardstand to create smooth trolley, pram and wheelchair access. The new exciting shops and brands will be announced at this year’s Innibos at the I’langa and Standard Bank stand. If you would like to take a closer look at the construction, make your way to I’langa.
