Students protesters disrupt traffic in CBD over student funding
"No funds, no school!" Student protesters were chanting outside Ehlanzeni TVET College offices this morning.
Traffic was disrupted this morning in Mbombela Central Business District when student protesters barricaded Bell Street with rocks outside Ehlanzeni TVET College Corporate Centre.
It is alleged that students were protesting about outstanding funds for accommodation and transport from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).
Police on the scene requested that the obstacles be removed from the road, which student leadership agreed to do.
By the time Lowvelder newspaper left the scene, members of student leadership were in meetings with management of Ehlanzeni TVET College.
