Join the women leading the way in business

Don't miss the South African Council for Business Women's annual Mpumalanga congress at Forever Resort Loskopdam on May 22.

MBOMBELA – The South African Council for Business Women (SACBW) is celebrating its 25th year of unlocking the potential of women in the workplace. This year it is hosting its annual Mpumalanga congress at Forever Resort Loskopdam on May 22.

And if you book early enough, both council members and non-members get a discount on attendance fees.

The SACBW Mbombela means to have a large party representing them. It is a particularly successful club. It has been announced branch of the year for the past four years and is the only owner of a three-star rating in the country.

The council represents all working women ranging from entrepreneurs to those on the corporate ladder and women pursuing professional careers. The Women Leading the Way congress, which is organised by the national SACBW, is thus designed to help them advance their careers or grow their businesses through professional and personal development.

To this end they offer a cracking line-up of speakers this month. Ms Dineshrie Pillay, a business partnering specialist is the author of The contract with yourself. It imparts simple but effective tools to achieving success by mastering your personal life, speaking skills, business understanding and leadership style.

Corporate and life coach Ms Magriet Engelbrecht specialises in improving communication to help individuals make the best choices for themselves so that they can achieve their goals. She focuses on your strengths and the positive things in your life, and builds on it. She will speak on gender intelligence in the workplace at the congress.

Dr Peter Tobin is a consultant with more than 30 years’ experience in academia and “the real world”, specialising in IT governance and management. Likewise, Mr John Cato has been specialising in IT governance compliance for three decades.

Tobin and Cato will address the conference on the Protection of Personal Information Act, which requires that permission be obtained from an individual before digital advertising can be aimed at them using their personal information, such as cellphone numbers.

Council members will pay only R450 for the day, but early birds who book and pay before May 8, receive R100 discount. Non-members pay R550 to attend. If you are keen to attend, contact admin@sacbw.org
