Inaugural Jozi Tese Festival takes place at Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens

Zahara, Amanda Black, King Mdu, Kunle Ayo, Daniel Baron, Sai & Ribatone and Rubber Duc will provide entertainment.

The Jozi Tese Festival will take place tomorrow at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens in Ruimsig, Johannesburg.

The festival will be a family affair with lots of entertainment on Heritage Day.

Big names such as Zahara, Amanda Black, kwaito king Mdu, Kunle Ayo, Daniel Baron, Sai & Ribatone and Rubber Duc will provide entertainment.

Tese is a Shona word that means being together.

In its inaugural year it will be offering food stalls; massage parlors and with exhibitors from hotel industry, fashion world, automative sector, the property sector, the sporting world and cellphone service providers.

As an event that prides itself as catering to the whole family, there will also be a monitored kiddies play area.

“While selecting the venue for this festival, we considered a location with tranquility, away from the city. That has indigenous plants, picnic in the gardens, beautiful Mountain View and a magnificent waterfall, hence, the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens” saidTshepo Riba, the festival director.

The 300 hectare Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens can accomodate up to 5000 visitors at a go.
