18.2-million accounts have already finished the eight-episode season.

According to Netflix, “Stranger Things” is smashing all the viewership records on the streaming platform having already gained the attention of a massive 40.7-million accounts.

The company’s Twitter account announced that of those who have started watching the series, 18.2-million have already finished the eight-episode series in the four days since it launched.

While it’s not immediately clear which show or movie held the previous record, this is still good news for “Stranger Things” fans who are now almost guaranteed to see a fourth season put into production soon.

Netflix’s most recent earnings reports disclosed it has 148 million paid accounts around the world, which means that 27.5 per cent of global Netflix accounts have watched at least 80 per cent of one episode of “Stranger Things'” latest season.
