KNP clocks 190k visitors during festive season

More tented camps like a new one at Nkuhlu is proposed for Kruger National Park.

There were slightly less visitors compared to last year, due to the summer holidays being much shorter.

The Kruger National Park (KNP) received more that 190,000 visitors during the festive season.

“Out of the 194,782 visitors received in the KNP, 158,584 were day visitors and we are most delighted that 155,326 were South Africans,” Managing Executive, Glenn Phillips said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Compared to the previous year, the KNP received 194,206 visitors; however the previous summer holidays were much longer.”
