Just like on their faces, women also aspire to look and feel younger “down there”. Vaginal rejuvenation, also known as tightening of the vagina, has become a lucrative business in recent years.

While the procedure has become increasingly popular, it costs a pretty penny to regain your youth down south.

A vaginoplasty, a procedure that aims to tighten up your vagina that’s become slack or loose from childbirth or ageing, will set you back R60,000 if you don’t have medical aid. The excess payment on medical aid will cost you around R25,000.

Cheaper non-surgical alternatives are also available, like the treatments socialite and entertainer Zodwa Wabantu  underwent in 2019, which will set you back anything from R6,600 per session.

While we all aspire to a more youthful looking appearance, not everyone has the money to service their “nunuberries”.

It doesn’t have to cost you and arm and a leg to regain elasticity in your nether regions. A cheaper alternative is to make a few adjustments to your diet and incorporate a couple of “targeted workouts” into your daily routine to help “tighten and tone” your lady bits.

Foods for a tighter vagina

Not only will a healthy diet be beneficial for your waistline, it will also help to strengthen your pelvic floor. Eating foods that are high in natural oestrogen will also help to tighten your vagina.

Include these foods in your diet:

  • Apples
  • Berries
  • Carrots
  • Sesame seeds
  • Pomegranates
  • Soybeans
  • Foods containing whole wheat
  • Oats
  • Corn
  • Eggs
  • Fish, in particular salmon, mackerel and sardines are anti-inflammatory omega-3 foods that not only help to combat cancer, they also help to re-tighten your vaginal walls and muscles.

Exercises to get ‘toned’ down there
