Masego’s coming back to SA… for real this time

The Jamaican-born trap house jazz musician will be returning to headline a new event after missing last year’s Flying Fish Flavour Odyssey.

After disappointing fans by missing last year’s Flying Fish Flavour Odyssey “due to unforeseen circumstances”, Jamaican-born trap house jazz musician Masego (Micah Davis) is set to return to the country to headline Flying Fish’s Ultimate Backyard Festival experience.

Set to take place on May 1 in Johannesburg, the event will see local talent curating never-seen-before experiences in the various festival flavours of music, fashion, photography, food, art, and culture.

The aim of the FlavourChillas campaign is to give South Africans all the tips and tricks they need to host festivals in their own backyards. As such, the brand has partnered with the most flavoursome festival experts who will be sharing their expertise and giving away weekly prizes, so that you don’t need to feel any FOMO if you’re missing out on all the festivals happening around the country.

The festival will be hosted by entertainer Sphaka of Microwave Boys along with a crew made up of Styling Life’s Foodie Bianca, the mixologist Mmisology, stylist Lola, Instagrammer and Vuzu presenter Anele, and DJ Uncle Party Time.

In addition to Lady Lady hitmaker Masego, guests attending this year’s Ultimate Flavour Chillas experience can expect a diverse local line up that includes songstress Shekinah, Una Rams, and Muzi, amongst others.

Flying Fish marketing manager Colleen Duvenage said in a statement: “Flying Fish Flavour Chillas is set to be the most flavourful property to hit Mzansi this year. To stand a chance to win tickets to the Ultimate Flavour Chillas as well as weekly festival, buy a Flying Fish, dial the number under the cap, and say ‘HELLO’.”

Limited tickets are currently on sale.
