Tzaneen authors honoured for their great work

Three local authors were honoured at the fifth African Annual Global Honoree Authors Awards 2022 presented at the Genesis Conference in Johannesburg recently.

They are Vun’we Rikhotso (17) and Khanyisa Ngobeni (38) from Dan village and Ntsako Banyini (16) from Mokgolobotho.
Rikhotso’s novel is titled ‘Nkululeko’ and Banyini’s poetry album is ‘Unspoken feelings’. Ngobeni was honoured for her debut book, ‘Walking through the pain of still birth’, which she wrote after giving birth to a stillborn baby girl, Ntalo Ellaine Ngobeni in April 2015.

Ngobeni told the Herald that she was happy to have been recognised at an event of such stature.
“I believe that God does turn ashes into diamonds. Sometimes a blessing is really found in the moment of pain, because in the end it produces joy,” she said.
Anthea Thyssen, the founder of the awards, has honoured 463 authors on the continent since its inception.
The theme for 2022 was “Unlock the Truth in Africa” and “Pen Warriors in Africa”.
