A video has been circulating on different social media platforms revealing sexual activities between a female Ncome Correctional Centre official and a male offender.
The incident allegedly occurred in her office at the Centre.
Singabakho Nxumalo, The Director of Communications with the Department of Correctional Services, said in a statement that the Department is ‘appalled, embarrassed and gutted and that sexual activities between inmates and Correctional Officials are shameful.’
“The official has been identified and she will be subjected to a disciplinary process with immediate effect. Disciplinary actions will also be taken against the inmate. The department expect their officials to abide by a code of conduct and such acts of sexual activities shall never be tolerated,” Mr Nxumalo said.
The Department has appealed to those in possession of the video to ‘refrain from distributing it any further.’
