When one thinks of a European holiday, the popular cities immediatedly come to mind. You know… Paris, Rome, London — all the well known and usually very crowded metropolitan cities.
The result of this is that there are many hidden gems in Europe that tourists never get to explore. A simple fact about traveling is that just because a city isn’t filled with tourists, it doesn’t mean it isn’t worth exploring.
Take Bergamo for example. Bergamo is located in the northern region of Italy. Having being overshadowed by tourist-centric cities like Milan, it is rich in history and culture. Some of the historic architecture dates back to the Medieval era, and the city’s culinary scene is perfect for travelers that consider themselves foodies.
