Buti na Buti releases new banging album

Award winning, Buti na Buti, has released their eighth studio album, ‘I mali’ recently.

The Tsonga musical duo comprises of blood brothers, Lawrence and Sydney Chauke from Mariveni village in the Greater Tzaneen Municipality.

The pair penetrated the music industry in 2007 and three years later they decided to have their own studio called BNB Media SA, situated in their village.

The studio has produced many talented musicians including Chabalala, Sesi na Sesi, Mthimbana, T-Math and Buti Mkhabela to name but a few.

In 2019 the brothers won the Best Xitsonga Album of the Year at the South African Traditional Music Awards.

This year they were also nominated in the MLFM Xitsonga Music Awards in the Best Duo of the Year category, but they unfortunately fell short.

The recent album consist of 10 songs of which one is an instrumental.

According to Sydney the album is the first CD and is in high demand. The sound of the new album is different from the previous projects, it has house drums and composition.

“We have been listening to to artists such as the late Peter Tenat, Matshwa Bemuda and Lucky Dube since 1996.”
