“I have been recording music for about six years now, but my greatest moment is having seen one of my latest material, a song titled Mamacita making so many waves. People love it and they relate to it and that makes me very happy,” stated Modiba.

He told the Mopani Herald that writes lyrics as a hobby and he is inspired by the likes of artists such as Lehlogonolo Ronald Mataboge, known as A-reece.

Modiba was born and raised in Tickyline and he is currently doing his grade 11 at Mabushe High School.

In total, he told the Herald that he has released about 20 songs now and the count is inclusive of the recent wave-making hit, ‘Mamacita’.

He aspires to have a studio of his own one day as he says that travelling back and forth to record his work becomes a hassle for him and takes out of his school time.

His aim, through music, he says is not primarily to make money but also to express himself and to inspire the youth. He has a belief that his music can heal people who may be experiencing tough times and have no faith in getting through them.

“What sets me aside from other artists is the fact that I am bringing my own style to the local music industry. I know it can be challenging, but I am determined to make and leave my mark. Maybe one day, I will be counted amongst those who have lived to inspire through following their dreams and living out their passion,” concluded Modiba.
