Art flows through Morema’s veins

Vincent Van Gogh's quote which says that, 'In spite of everything I shall rise again: I will take up my pencil, which I have forsaken in my great discouragement, and I will go on with my drawing,' seems to describe the life of one young local artist.

Emmanuel Morema (21) from Motjeteng Village in the Bolobedu area says that lately he cannot stop himself from drawing day and night.

Morema has always loved drawing but he says that he only started drawing full time in February this year..

One of Emmanuel Morema’s drawings,

“My passion is portrait drawings and I want to take my drawing skills to the next level by acquiring a Visual Art qualification at a tertiary institution,” said Morema

The young artist is doing his Grade 12 supplementary exams and will be writing his exams in September.

He also has a certificate in which he completed a two-day Visual Art Workshop, which was organised by the Greater Tzaneen Community Foundation earlier this year at Lenyenye Community Hall.

By age six Morema had lost both his parents and after their passing, his two aunts Margareth and Christinah Morema, stepped in to raise him.

He is still under the care of both his aunts and says that they are good parents to him, as they try by all means to meet his needs in every way they can.

“My dream is to be one of the best artists in the world and to take my art to all parts of the world,”expressed Morema
