Kids unite in one accord

Two local young people recently hosted a kids event in the hopes of building a better community through the young ones at the Nkowankowa Community Hall.

Over 100 kids from different churches and the community of Nkowankowa Township honoured the occasion.

They ranged from the ages of five to twelve.

“The purpose of the event was to equip kids with the teachings of God and to help them discover their purpose,” said Ingrid Rikhosto, one of the organisers,

Rikhosto and Tsakani Khosa came with the idea of bringing children together through the teachings of God’s love last year.

The day’s activities involved singing gospel music, dancing, games and they were given goodies and lunch was also served.

“As a parent I think the event was a good platform for kids from different churches to meet and play together and seeing for themselves that other kids can grow being young soldiers of the gospel,” said Theo Maluleke, a parent of one of the kids who attended the event.

Rikhosto urged parents to always speak in a motivational manner towards their kids, because she believes that children always look up to the adults in their lives, so that “Another event is on the pipeline and this time we are hoping for more kids to attend, seeing that this was our first one,” added Rikhosto.

The event was sponsored by Ok Mini Market, Sasko and Coca-Cola.
