Marula Festival was a bang

Despite the wet weather revellers went out to party at the Marula Festival at Impala Stadium in Phalaborwa recently.

The Kwaito concert which is enjoyed mostly by the youth saw young people dancing in the rain when their favourite artists did what they do best which is to give effortless performances.

The 12th annual festival was made possible by the Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET) and Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA).

The Festival was officially opened by the Ba-Phalaborwa Mayor, Pule Shai, on Friday.

During the launch of the Marula festival in January the MEC for LEDET, Seaparo Sekoati, said the festival contributes an excess of R40 million to the local economy of Ba-Phalaborwa and the Mopani District through the general trade and also generates more than 500 job opportunities to the local communities.

More people are anticipated for the Jazz Festival this coming Saturday. Tickets are sold at Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers outlets for R150 only.

The lineup for the Kwaito concert included DJ Ganyani, HHP, Thebe, Mdu, Gigi Lamayne, K.O, Maraza, Bricks, DJ Complexion and DJ Cappuccino.
