35 year old Victor Malatji appeared before the Namakgale Magistrate Court facing murder charges.
The Case was remanded until November 28 for further Police investigations and the Suspect is still in custody with no bail
“The suspect was previously arrested in Lulekani outside Phalaborwa and sentenced to six years imprisonment for two separate incidents of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm for three years each”; said Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.
“It is alleged that the deceased was last seen over the past weekend together with her husband and a missing report was made at the local Police Station and a joint intensive search was then conducted by various Police Units and the community until her lifeless body was found in the bushes outside Namakgale,” he further stated.
It was not possible to see any visible injuries on the victim’s body because she was in a state of decomposition but the post mortem will tell the cause of death.
The motive behind this death is still unknown but domestic violence cannot be ruled out.
