It’s all about food and wine

Join the people of Haenertsburg to celebrate autumn with a weekend of culinary delights at the food and Wine Festival on April 30 to May 1.

Formerly known as the Kiwi Festival this has now become one of Limpopo’s Premier Food and Wine Festivals.

This year’s Food, Wine and Beer Festival will celebrate life, taste and nature like never before.

The festival will see the gathering of chefs and cooks, local organic producers, seven wine estates and thousands of happy foodies.

Think organic cheese and chourigo sausage, fine wines and hearty autumn fare.

Think homegrown coffee and high tea; a mix of traditional and contemporary cuisine.

There will be wine pairing, cooking demos, a Slow Food Emporium and the opening of the taps of the Mountain’s new hand crafted beer Zwakala.

The Slow Food Emporium is a highlight of the festival.

The recent launch of the Haenertsburg Slow Food Convivium saw local producers, consumers, restaurateurs and experts getting together to try and ensure that our collective harvest table is good, clean and fair.

The Emporium will feature fresh fruit and vegetables, jams, pickles, cheese, raw food and artisanal produce.

The Food, Wine and Beer festival has over seven wonderful wine estates this year – including Springfield, Jordan, the Goose Wines, Ayama, Alvi’s Drift, Zandvliet and more.

Raise a toast to the local craft beers that will be on show too, and join the Mountain in celebrating abundance in autumn.

Since the Mountain is definitely the prettiest place to say ‘I do’, there will also be a Wedding expo at the festival, show casing the most romantic ways to tie the knot, from mountain top to water’s edge, from under the cherry blossoms to alongside the fire.

Check out the wedding service, honeymoon hideaways and everything you need to know about getting married on the mountain.
