Needy Learners receive uniform in Bismark Village

The Department of Social Development donated school uniforms to underprivileged learners at Bismark Village in Sekororo last Tuesday.

Learners from Malebalong Primary School received new school uniform which was presented to them by the MEC of Social Development, Happy Joyce Mashamba.

“We need to identify the needy children so that they can also receive uniforms. We need the assistance of the community to help us with that,” said Mashamba.

She added that children should look uniform when at school because once a child looks different they end up feeling like outcast.

About 4000 needy learners were identified by South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) with the help of teachers and uniform was provided, which consisted of School shoes, black and white shirts and trousers.

SASA urges the parents and guardians of deserving children to enlist their children names at their respective offices so that they can also receive help.

The learners will wear their uniform with pride and create a better life for themselves and their community.
