And the top 65 sport schools are…

The question in itself is guaranteed to generate a plethora of opinions and not a few who will almost entirely back their alma mata regardless of the current results.

However in order to provide some answer to this question SA School Sports embarked on an exercise to try and establish the leading sporting school in the country.

Naturally more than one sporting code needs to be recognised, and more than one season has to be considered.

By combining the rankings for the major sports from the past four years SA School Sports  have come up with the “Top Sporting School Rankings”.

The sports included were Rugby, Cricket, Hockey and Water Polo which are played by the majority of schools.

Schools that scored highly invariably were those that have been able to compete at a consistently high level in all the sport codes for an extended period of time.

They would like to stress that SA School Sports has no allegiance to any school and the results were based entirely on the various rankings for the above mentioned codes over the past four years.
