Maria still remains undefeated

Malatji stated that she ran the marathon, passing three men along her way to finishing first in the 21km.

Maria Malatji (59) remains undefeated in her winning streak in provincial and local marathons.

Malatji took part in the Magoeba Plunge marathon that took place on Saturday, running the 21km race.

She has participated in several other marathons throughout the year but she had greatly anticipated the plunge as she knew it would have great numbers.

She managed to finish first in her age group, winning first place for the race she ran.

Malatji has always told Letaba Herald after every win that she gets motivated by remaining undefeated.

“I do it for my health and to try and inspire other people, young and old, to take exercise and fitness as an important thing. I do not let anything get in the way of my training and it shows in the results I always get. Having came out top from this marathon has giving me an extra boost of confidence and I cannot wait for the next marathon to happen so I can continue making my mark,” she exclaimed with excitement.

Malatji says that she will continue taking part in marathons for as long as possible as it has kept her in good spirit and in great health.

She urges the youth and the older generation to follow in her footsteps.
