TZANEEN: Locals rev’d up at SARDA Nationals

The SARDA Electric Offroad Nationals’ first round took place at the Viking Raceway the past weekend.

Here racers gathered from all over the country to compete against each other for first prize.

Saturday everyone competed in the qualifiers and on Sunday they competed for first, second and third place. One thing any spectator of the event can see, is the manner in which these racers treat each other is a great show of sportsmanship.

The race track included lots of hills, turns and even a big wall climb, intended to separate the boys from the men.

The event had all the spectators at the edge of their seats.

Here are the results:

For the 2wd Stock 17.5 Blinky Buggy Final A first place went to Wikus Coetzer, Second to Kevin Rousseau and third to Waldo Jansen van Vuuren; For Final B Peter Jansen van Vuuren won first place, Kyle Rossow won second and Francois Wood third.

For the 2wd Modified Buggy Final A first place went to Rikus Jansen van Vuuren, Charles Hollander made second place, and third went to Gerrit Gouws; and the Final B John Fitzsimmons won first place, Peter Jansen van Vuuren second and Darryn Hill third.

For the 2wd Stadium Trucks 13.5 Blinky Final A first place went to Wikus Coetzer, Riaan Truscott won second place and Pieter Swemmer third. In the 2wd Shortcourse Trucks 13.5 Boosted Final A first place went to Wikus Coetzer, Second place to Wikus van den Berg and third to Kevin Rousseau.

The 4wd Stock 13.5 Blinky Buggy Final was won by Wikus Coetzer, second came Anton Nothnagel, and third was John Fitzsimmons.

Finally, for the 4wd Modified Buggy Finals, Rikus Jansen van Vuuren came first, Charles Hollander second, and Jaco van Eeden third.
