Ndengeza wins against Molemole in Giyani

Molemole Academy FC might have misjudged its chances against Ndengeza FC, when it was beaten 4-2 by nine men in an ABC Motsepe League match played at Giyani stadium.

The game started well with both sides pushing forward in search for the net.

However, Molemole FC slipped up just a few minutes into the game, when all the players ran forward and left their goalkeeper unguarded.

This opened up a chance for the host team to score an early lead, which it maintained until half time.

However, in the second half, the Ndlengeza lost one of its good strikers to a red card, of which gave Molemole Academy a chance to level the score to 1-1.

Their celebration however, did not last long as Ndengeza FC came back fuming with a renewed effort aiming for a kill.

Within a short space of time they were able to score a second goal, followed by the third and fourth goal, before Molemole Academy could muster enough efforts to retaliate.

Tough game

It was in the last few seconds before the end whistle that Molemole Academy was able to score a consolation goal through a penalty shot to make it two against four goals of the host team.

The win for Ndengeza FC has brought up some little hopes that they might be able to climb back up the log, after dropping down from position two at the beginning of the league, to its current position six with 31 points out of 19 games.

Locally however, the stake on the share of football fans amongst the local residents has just gone higher with the entrance of Ndengeza FC into ABC Motsepe league.

This means there are two teams in the same league that represent Giyani including Giyani Hot Spurs which is currently at number 14 on the league log standings.

Whichever team makes it to the National First Division or Premier Soccer League, stands to enjoy a massive support from Giyani residents, similar to the support that was given to Dynamos when it first qualified to First National Division but later sold its status after qualifying to the PSL.
