Local nutritionist wins biker trophy

Nkowankowa born and bred nutritionist won an award in biking for Mopani region.

Kulani Shilote, was awarded the best biker in mopani by his team Sapa Yopa Club in Groblersdal over the weekend during the team building meeting held twice a year.

Shilote was given the award which mainly represents his support in the club and takes into consideration the number of events he participated in representing Sapa Yopa Club.

“I’m honoured to be given the trophy, I invested a lot of time and money in biking this season and most weekends I was away from home. Spending all that time away from my family has really paid off,” said Shilote.

Growing up Shilote loved riding bicycles until his Grade 12 and after finishing his tertiary studies he wanted to advance his love for riding to the next level by buying himself his first bike the Yamaha R1.

“This should be an encouragement to other members of the club to participate in club rallies and supporting other clubs, by doing this it also gives visibilitry to the club’s name,” Tebogo ‘Dj Cappacino Maswanganyi, explained.

The bikers always donate food and money to non profit organisations during their meetings.

And this occasion was not exception as they also took the time to buy food and give money to a disability centre.

DONATIONS: Sapa Yopa Club Vice President, Tilly handing over money to a representative of the disability centre they visited during the team building meeting held in Groblersdal.

Shilote’s dream bike is the BMW 1000rr and says the win gives him a sense of fulfilment.
