Winter tournament continues

Five teams have moved on to the next round of the Tzaneen Winter Top 16 Soccer Knock-Out Tournament which was held at the Nkowankowa Stadium over the weekend. Five teams have moved on to the next round of the Tzaneen Winter Top 16 Soccer Knock-Out Tournament which was held at the Nkowankowa Stadium over the weekend.

Makoti Football Club from Ramotshinyadi Village proceeded to the last eight (quarterfinal) of the tournament.

The weekend results are as follows (Saturday) Leswika FC 4- Mariveni Nazarene 3; Rich Gang 1- Leretjeng Swallows 2; Letaba Zebras 3-0 Emmanuel Iron Breakers.

Sunday results are as follows, Flamingo FC 1- 4 Nwamitwa Hot Spurs and Makoti FC 4-2 Khujwana All Stars.

The tournament will continue on Sunday when Nkowankowa Barcelona play against Mariveni United; Zanghoma Dordmond go head to head with Mangweni FC and Relela FC play against Tzaneen Killers.

The tournament organiser,Thomas ‘Santy’ Mayimele said that the aim of the tournament is to give teams a chance to prepare their players for the upcoming season while also unearthing talent and preventing boys from participating in unlawful activities due to SAFA off season breaks.

The tournament comprises of teams around Tzaneen campaigning in the Mopani SAB leagues and the LFA League.
