The Mopani district under 17 champion in the schools championships, is thriving on the athletics tracks.

It was held at the University of Limpopo, with club athletes from all around the province.

Baloyi will represent the province in Cape Town from April 7-8, at the Green Point Stadium.

Hlambela Baloyi, Mopani under 17 champion in the schools championships but cannot go the compete because of lack of funds.

However his dream of representing Limpopo may be shattered as he was unable to represent the province in Durban in the schools championships this March.

He does not have enough money to finance his Durban trip.

“I plead with the public to assist this dedicated young man to help him with achieving his dream of being the best athlete in the world,” said Coach Conride Shikwambana.

Shikwambana added that it is very important for Baloyi to get a sponsor, as young boys quit sports for alcohol and crime and he does not want it to be the case for his athlete.

The Cape Town championships expenses costs about R10 000, which include transport, meals and accommodation.
