Simpson team first in class

Well-known local rally enthusiast , Eddie Simpson and navigator, Louis Menge, finished first in their class and 5th overall during the first rally of the African Regional Rally Organisation (ARRO).

Due to good rains on the highveld, ARRO had to postpone the start of the 2017 rally season.

Round 1 started on March 24 at 18:00 with 23 contenders. This was a night rally held in the Bronkhorstspruit area.

Eddie Simpson and navigator, Louis Menge entered in their Class S1 (1400cc) Opel Corsa. During the night stages, they had their fair share of problems when an injector wire broke and they had to finish the stage with one piston not firing. They also had to strap up the gearbox to the chassis due to a broken gearbox mounting.
