The home side got more than what they bargained for as they were looking to clinch a win after they suffered back to back away defeats lastweek, conceded in the 3rd minute from the kick off through an own goal by the defender, Martin Molodobhozi.

Molodobhozi was trying to clear the dangerous low cross from United’s troublesome attacker Tshepo Mokgolepa, instead he beat his own goalkeeper who looked to have had the situation covered.

Amanandos as the Mariveni outfit are affectionately called, could have added to their tally seconds later but their wayward striker, Mokgolepa could not find the back of the net with his effort outside the box after he was afforded much space to have a crack into the goals but his timid shot was comfortably collected by the goalkeeper.

Peace Makers, who were under siege since the start, had their first attempt towards the goal in the 16th minute when Molete Pudikabekwa sent his effort well over the post after he poorly connected with Thabo Makwela’s cross, with their first shot on target coming on the 25th minute when Moses Mashabela’s tested goalkeeper from range.

The visitors made their intentions clear that they want to seal off victory when they made a tactical substitute in the 30th minute when they Thapelo Manganyi was brought in for Rhulani Mashele.

The host slowly started adventuring forward often as Mariveni continue to be wasteful in front goals with many opportunities they created but Peace Makers couldn’t break the wall to grab the equalizer.

United once again found an opening in 32nd minute but Mixo Phakula failed to tap in the chance into the open net when a flicked ball by Mokgolepa from Manganyi corner kick found him well placed inside the box but he shot straight to the goalkeeper, who palmed it towards the defender to clear.

Peace Makers goalkeeper, Charles Shekedi was the busiest amongst the two shot stoppers as he was constantly attacked. He was called into action again at the stroke of half time and he diverted Makgolepa’s thunderous shot out for a corner kick to keep his side into the game.

However, Shekedi was beaten once again immediately after the match resumed from the break when defenders let loose Samuel Malatjie to make it 2-0.

Peace Makers striker, Xholisile Shingange could have brought back his side immediately after Malatjie,s goal after he met well with a wonderful low cross from Pudikabekwa unfortunately he missed the target all together with only the keeper to beat.

Peace Makers saw more of the ball in search for comeback, creating opportunities but they failed to capital on them.

However they were awarded a penalty after the defender, David Malesa was adjudged to have handled the ball in the 87thminute and Brain Sekgoka made no mistake to pull one back for the host to make 2-1.

With a minute left on the clock Shingange failed to salvage a point for his side from a free header after Dusky Monyela delivered a good cross, leaving Peace Makers losing their third game in a row.
