Relegation threatened Zebras’ woes continues

Shayadima Morning Stars crush Hill Zebras Ladies 5-0 in their Sasol League Stream B encounter at Hill Zebras Sports Ground at Runnymede on Saturday.

Stars started as the strongest making two attempts in the opening minutes but their efforts were not good enough to trouble the goalkeeper, Luscious Baloyi.

Though the home side tried to control the ball in the middle of the park they didn’t have creativity to bypass their opponents’ defence as they cheaply gave away the position.

Livhuwani Mukwevho opened the score sheet after Mulalo Mufandelani unleashed a wonderful through pass behind the defenders and she flicked the ball over Baloyi to connect with the net.

The visitors scored two goals back to back few minutes after scoring the first goals when Onezwa Pinana and Tshifhiwa Khangale scored in 27th and 29 the minute respectively before Mukwevho grabbed her brace and the fourth goal for the Shayandima outfit.

Morning Stars ran amok on Hill Zebras as they made them retreat and cause lots of mistakes. However, Shayandima Skipper Mufandelani made an attempt after breaking from the right but she shot right in the goalkeeper’s hands.

Khangale was on thick of things when she peeled away in the left wing but failed to score the fifth goal for the visitors when goalkeeper made a comfortable catch to deny stars as the game went to break leading 4-0.

The home team played a little better in the second half as they asked some questions on Morning Stars’ defence but the away team stood firm to not let anything slip through.

Meanwhile Mukwevho scored the fifth goal for the visitors and her third of the game in the 57th minute with a shot from range as the defenders gave her ample of space to shoot on target and goalkeeper was left rooted on the ground watched helplessly when the ball hit the top left corner and sneaked in.

Portia Tshikhudo failed to put her side further ahead as her free kick bounced on the crossbar as Shayadima showed dominance on the ball and on attempts as they looked dangerous going forward.

However, the poor finishing from star in the second with Hill Zebras nowhere to be seen meant the game ended 6-0.
